hey
just wanted to know if anyone else had read the biography of Divine written by her manager Bernard Jay. it's a very interesting look at Divine since it's written by somebody who is not in the Dreamlanders circle. the most interesting info for me was that Divine was a chronic pot head and they way he talks about the funeral is pretty interesting too, through out the book the writer seems to have a grudge with Waters so it's an interesting perspective at least. mostly the only other people who have anything to say about Divi are the other Dreamlanders, Waters and of course his scary mother.worth the read and at least you get to see that Divi was so much more than just Water's leading lady. on that note Lust In The Dust is a must see too, hehe

Re: NOT SIMPLY DIVINE
Mon, October 23, 2006 - 3:33 PMI just finished this yesterday! During parts of it I thought that it was unnecessarily rude towards Divine, but it was very interesting. I wonder where this obvious battle between Jay and John Waters comes from--and who is the real bad guy in the situation. I want to read Divine's mother's book now, too! Have you read it?
